Emily is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate about helping people live with less emotional pain. Curious about the human condition, she double-majored in Psychology and Communication at UC Santa Barbara and completed her graduate degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University.
Emily has worked with multiple populations and in different settings including treatment centers, group practices, community mental health centers, non-profits and schools. After eight years, feeling somewhat limited by the shortcomings of mental healthcare, she went on to create Recharge Online Therapy with her sister, Michelle. With clients, Emily is highly empathetic, warm and intuitive. She utilizes a non-judgmental, integrative approach to help clients identify underlying issues, uncover their strengths and implement strategies and skills to live with more self-acceptance, joy and meaning.
Co-Founder + Chief Operating Officer
Michelle is a Certified Public Accountant with nearly a decade of experience in mental healthcare administration, management and finance. Entrepreneurial by nature, Michelle embarked on her first venture with her sister, Emily, in their teenage years. Their effortless working relationship and eventual success were eye-opening to Michelle, who went on to double-major in Business Economics and Communication at UC Santa Barbara.
In search of deeper meaning, Michelle took a job in the accounting department of a dual-diagnosis treatment center. After a few years, Michelle was promoted to Chief Financial Officer of a partner treatment center but began to feel a strong desire to bridge the gap in sustainable mental healthcare for high-functioning people. Michelle has been a consumer and advocate of therapy for many years and works to improve its accessibility so more people are able to experience its healing potential.
